Community Crisis Center is eager to provide information to the community about the agency, domestic violence and sexual assault issues, and homelessness/economic issues.

All topics can be adapted to meet the needs of your group and are provided free of charge.

Learn about Community Crisis Center, where/how we began, what services we offer to the community, and how you can help us. Tailored to your group.

Homelessness in Our Community
There are persons in our community who live without having the assurance of paying the rent and having a place to live next month. Some have already lost the security of a place to stay. Learn about what services are available for them, and what you can do to help.

Suicide and the CCC Response
The 24 hour hotline is available for all kinds of calls including suicide calls. Learn more about suicide intervention, and help for those who are in despair.

All About Your Donation
Is your school/class/organization planning to collect money or goods for the Crisis Center? Invite us to your class/meeting to receive the donations and tell the participants how their donations will be used.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Domestic (Intimate Partner) Violence
The facts of domestic violence are presented. What it is, how prevalent it is, how it affects the individual, how you can help, and what services we provide to those in a violent situation.

Effects of Domestic Violence on Children
Children are the “Silent Witnesses” to domestic violence, and it has a great impact on their lives. Learn how to recognize symptoms of trouble at home, and how to talk with children whose lives have been affected.

Dating Violence
For teenagers, and young adults: find out more about dating violence, what are your rights and responsibilities in a dating relationship, how to recognize a potentially dangerous relationship. For parents: know to recognize when your teen/young adult is in a scary relationship, and how to help them to get out of a dangerous situation safely.

Cyber Violence
The advent of new technologies has created both great advantages and great disadvantages. Find out more about sexting, cyber harassment, and cyber stalking. For ages 12 and up.

Batterer Intervention
“Violence is a learned behavior, and it can be unlearned.” Learn more about the batterers program. Where do batterers come from, and what steps must they make to change their behavior.

Safe Surfing
Students learn risks and safety rules for Internet use. Grade 4-adult

Child Sexual Abuse Recognition and Action
A program for all who work with children. Learn signs and symptoms of possible sexual abuse, what actions to take if you suspect it.

Mandated Reporting
Everyone who works with minors in a paid or volunteer capacity is a mandated reporter for physical and sexual abuse. Learn how to handle disclosures and your duties as required by law, and to best benefit the victim’s well-being. Reporting to a supervisor does not absolve one of legal responsibility.

Internet Safety
