Become a volunteer Our volunteers include individuals, families and groups who come to us with a range of experiences and motivations. We offer a variety of direct and indirect volunteer positions and work to match the skills and interests of the volunteer with the needs of the agency and our clients. Some volunteer positions, including all direct service positions, require screening, training and one or more interview(s) with the supervising staff member. In recent years we have had more than 400 volunteers who together provide more than 10,000 hours of service to the Community Crisis Center each year. In November 2004, we introduced our “Heart or the Center” awards to acknowledge the contributions of some of these extraordinary people. Our first recipients were: Heart of the Center Recipients 2004 Bob Connor Mitch Esterino Bob Jackson Peg Lohs Odette Maskell Baking Ministry of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Streamwood Reruns Resale Shop Sow Little Thyme Garden Club Fox Valley Newcomers
